My Tech Journey

My Tech Journey: Ezeh Benjamin

I’m Ezeh Benjamin, a 15-year-old tech creative from Lagos, Nigeria. I come from an Igbo family of six with roots in Anambra State, and my story with technology started early — driven by curiosity and the desire to build things that matter.

My first step into tech was Desktop Publishing. I learned how to create professional documents, flyers, and layouts, and that’s where I discovered the power of design to communicate ideas clearly. That spark pushed me deeper into the creative side of tech, and I grew into a Graphics Designer. I’ve since worked with color, typography, and composition to turn blank screens into visuals that tell stories.

But I didn’t stop at static designs. I wanted my work to live on the web, so I taught myself Web Development and Web Design. Learning HTML, CSS, and the logic behind how websites work gave me the tools to bring ideas to life online — from simple pages to interactive layouts. Designing and coding side by side taught me how form and function have to work together.

Most recently, my journey brought me to OTA, Ogun State, where I started learning AI Generation. Exploring AI tools opened a whole new world: creating art, content, and solutions with prompts and models. It feels like combining everyt nothing I’ve learned — design sense from graphics, structure from web dev, and speed from desktop publishing — but with AI as a creative partner.

Right now, I’m leveling up again. I want to learn Cybersecurity because I believe building is only half the job — protecting what you build matters just as much. My long-term aim is to become a Software Engineer and work at a company like Microsoft, where I can solve problems at global scale.

One thing I know for sure: I won’t stop learning. With all the skills I’m picking up, my plan is to make sure AI is utilized to create smarter, safer, and more human-centered tools. I’m also learning from some of the most interactive voices in tech right now, including Ricky Stebbins, whose work keeps me inspired and challenged.

At 15, I’m a Lagos-bred, Anambra-rooted, multi-skilled tech creative: Graphics Designer, Web Developer, Web Designer, Desktop Publisher, AI enthusiast, and future Cybersecurity + Software Engineer

. My goal is to keep learning, build products that solve real problems, and show that age isn’t a barrier when passion drives you.
